Leveraging Block.one’s EOS holdings for additional network growth and opportunity: Part 2
On November 8, Block.one outlined its intentions to engage in a series of transactions that leveraged Block.one’s EOS position, as tokens become available over time, to foster growth within the EOS ecosystem.
In addition to the recently announced Helios transaction, today we are pleased to announce our intentions to offer the following grants of vesting tokens that are intended to be given over time, and subject to our token availability:
- EOS Network Foundation – 30m EOS
- Pomelo – 1m EOS
- EdenOS – 1m EOS
These projects and organizational grants allocate the remainder of our position to initiatives that have the potential to positively impact the EOS ecosystem. More can be found about each of them below.
About EOS Network Foundation
The EOS Network Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides financial and non-financial support to encourage the growth and development of the EOS network. By harnessing the power of decentralization to chart a coordinated future, the EOS network strives to be a force for positive global change.
About Pomelo
Pomelo is an EOS-focused open-source crowdfunding platform that enables any person to contribute directly to projects seeking funding.
Projects that are providing a public good for the community will have contributions matched from a pool of funds, leveraging quadratic funding to allocate more matching funds to the projects which have received more contributions from more unique users. Pomelo aims to help developers capture the value they create and grow the Web3 developer population.
About EdenOS
Eden on EOS represents over 320 of the most active members of the EOS community and utilizes Eden OS to provide decentralized, representative, and resilience governance structures. Eden is a state of the art DAO structure that transparently validates its members via an invitation process that records Zoom calls with three existing members. The elections use a fractal structure based on Daniel Larimer’s book, “More Equal Animals”, that maximizes the voice of members, intends to prevent political factions, and focuses on ensuring incumbents and insiders are unable to permanently capture power.
The terms of each of these grants remain subject to agreement.
